Default A3 Oil Change Mystery

Hello all I am long time Audi owner and have had many differnt Audis over the last 30 years. Fast forward last year I fall in love with a 2008 A3 White S Line 2.0 Turbo Gas. After about 3 months it develops the dreaded chain rattle. With 115,000 on the clock and the previous owner not talkative about the service I bought the complete kit from ECS including the water pump. I had a local German specialty shop do the service . The car was quiet and ran great until about 2000 miles after the tensioner was done I heard a slight rattle at Idle. The I pulled the dip stick and the oil was good but slightly dirty. So I go to the local NAPA store and buy the NAPA gold filter insert and 5w40 Liquid Moly . At start up nice and quiet as expected. But about a week later mega chain rattle at idle. My first thought was the NAPA gold filter. I surfed for other owners with similer issues and found lots of postings . I am going today to dump the oil and filter . I bought Castrol VW grade 5w40 full Synthetic and a OEM Audi filter insert. The tensioner was FEBI . Has anyone else had these issues? I am miffed about this and pissed that I am another 60 bucks in the hole. I will update post updates after oil change . Hoping that my tensioner did not take a dump after 2000 miles. Anyone have any experiences with this? Thanks

I've always used MANN or Bosch filters for that very reason. I've seen a couple of other filters get crushed or sucked together before when I used a one off once and never trusted them again (luckily never had it as bad as you).
