Audi A3 2008 Rough Idle
Hey guys,
I have an 08' Audi A3 and for almost a year now I have been noticing that my idle is rough. It's hard to explain when you can't be in the car so awhile back I attempted to catch it on video. Note this video is like watching paint dry but you can see the RPM needle jump if you watch it closely. When you're sitting still you feel the car sorta choke or shake.
History...67,000 miles...I've only put Shell gasoline in it since 08' and last month I replaced the pcv valve.
Any ideas on what I should look at next?

Sorry, I can't view the video, as my work computer doesn't load videos well, but it sounds like it could be a vacuum loss. One place that I can think of is to check the extension tube for the oil filler between the engine shroud and the valve cover. I had a problem with this on my A3 and once I removed the extension tube and used the valve cover threads (the cap will fit here too) the vacuum loss was no longer a problem. The extension tube is plastic and could crack fairly easy. Hope this helps.

Finally figured out my issues with the rough idle. Supposedly with Audi Care my spark plugs were to be replaced at the 45,000 mile maintenance. I have 60,000 on the car now. Looks like I was told the maintenance was done but by the looks of my plugs it wasn't.
