Considering buying 2000 Audi A3
Ok so I am not new to the car world and I am not new to the 4cyl turbo'd concept but I am new to Audi.
I just wrecked my 06 STI and my insurance totalled it so I want the same 4cyl turbo but without the hefty price tag. Yes I know Audi is expensive but I already found a car in my budget so I just have some questions for all of you on here.
So I found a 2006 A3 for 16,900 but my prroblem is finding aftermarket parts for them. I know I dont own it yet but I am 100% positive I will be picking it up by the end of this week.
Next is problems. Are there any known problems with the turbo or the tranny or any major components that I am going to need to replace?
The car is still under factory warranty so how well is Audi's service? I have delt with BMW before and they where good. In comparison I would imagine they are equal but like I said I am new to the Euro cars.
Is it AWD, FWD or RWD I keep finding verying answers online.
If there are any things you all think I should know that I didnt ask please feel free to add them to here. I am sure I will ask more questions based on the information you give me.
All help is much appreciated.

i wouldn't suggest buying the new american A3. It's nothing like it's european counterpart. the american A3 is just a FWD WAGON!! (nothing special). The european version was basically an AWD boosted Golf and it looked sharp(great concept). An STi is a badass car, i was lookin at them but u can't even realistically touch a 1st Gen Sti for under $15,000. So i just went with a twin turbo A6 & i love it...when it works! haha

A couple of strange posts bo my mind....
You are buying a car this week and you don't know that it is FWD? Have you driven it yet?
The A3 is a nice small car for driving fast, it's not the hot rod a STI is, but for us older guys that saves us from racing every dork kid and his rot rod. Besides I can put some stuff in the back and gets good mpg albeit with premium.
My Houston dealer has been great, besides normal service I had to replace the AC which is apparently a defect unit.
