Default Electric windows dont work/wont go up (how to fix)

Hi guys, Just a quick one,

I have just got my first audi today a 99 1.8t.

A great car but just one thing is on the test drive it was raining so i didnt even think to try the windows, And of cause i get home and neither of the windows work ?
Everything else works fine and theres no warning light on any ideas ?

Yeah...check your fuse panel for blown fuse. Possible bad connection also . My assumption is that you have a common fuse or connector for your electric windows.
It also be possible that windows have been exposed to a harsh cleaning chemical that has ruined the rubber guides preventing window gliding movement.

Ok so i had a look today and the reason they dont work is someone had unpluged them.

After pluging them in i found out that they dont go up and down in a straight line its like its come off the runners,

So when you try and move the window up it gets stuck then comes back down[:@]

wondered if this is common problem and whats the best way to fix ?

Cheers Paul

Yeah, its easy to remove the interior door panels and check. There are only 4 screws I believe.

that's crazy... and the dealership didn't tell you about the problem? sounds shady.
