Maximizing the Utility from the A3 Sound System
Dear all, please help in my situation...
I have bought my new A3 2007 car 1 month ago but I have not integrated any Bluetooth in the phone evethough it is an Audi Symphony system. I am definitely (sooner or later) gonna install the bluetooth (mainly formy cell phone) because there is a very strict law in Cyprus regarding talking on the phone while drving. Moreover I find it quit needy lately to play a lot saved music on my radio hence I am in the need of an iPod as well.
What is in my mind now and where I need you help is to decide amongst 3 things:
Integrade a bluetooth (for the phone) on the system and buy the Ipod (for music) as well
Integrate the bluetooth and then use my mobile phone to send my MP3s to my radio
Take a decision based on your suggestions here.
Thank you
Mike

In my opinion, you should not rely on the Audi Bluetooth for music playback. Audi's system does not support the A2DP Bluetooth profile, which is used for streaming stereo music. It only supports headset profile, which is mono and is a lower bitrate. If it will even pick up music playback from your phone, the quality will probably be worse than FM.

This is the best way to integrate bluetooth in your car
http://www.hfvt.com/content/page/cat...61/SW101C.html
It's failry cheap and a VERY easy install.
It also keeps the interior looking factory just as if the bluetooth came already equipped
also there is a 10% discount for forum user who mention tmy posts
Best of luck

Install time......you're going to spend hours doing the mutican if you do it yourself and you will spend an arm and a leg if you bring it somewhere. Our Sw101Cis a very easy and quick install and has been PROVEN to work time and time again. Multican has just been released.

After watching the installers do it, I can install the unit myself in under an hour. I have no prior experience with auto electronics.
I was charged $100 for professional installation.

That's pretty impressive, we are actually going to bedoing some testing on the multican ourselves to see if it is going to be a viable option as opposed to the SW101C, but for nowthe SW101Chas been a very satifying integration for thousands of Audi BMW Mercedes and volkswagen customers, but we'll see how it comes out.
Best of Luck
