So my wife is jealous of my 85 UR quattro and wants an overpriced Audi of her own. She has no interest in cars except the minute you suggest getting her one at which point she becomes very picky. Upshot of all this is I found her a low mileage 07 A3 with all the bells and whistles she needs (wants) except heated seats. It does have powered leather but no heat. The dealership offered to add aftermarket seat heat for $500 but someone I know in the trade suggested that the heating elements may already be in place along with some or all of the wiring harnes. Is this true? If so it would be an easy install of two switches. Hardly worth forking over an extra $500.

if not, anyone have any experience of adding heated seats to an A3 or other Audi? I build race cars so am qiute handy but what's left is not pretty.
