2013 A4 Clutch MELTED in 5 minutes
So I own a 2013 A4 with a manual Transmission and I melted the clutch with only 44,000km. I bought this car NEW and it has been driven fairly easily. Before you jump to conclusions my wife and I have owned manual cars and trucks most of our lives so we do know how to properly drive them. We had a 2003 TT manual and put 120,000km on it with not a hiccup.
SO here is what happened. I was on the phone with my wife as she was driving. She was driving up a hill and said something feels strange, I told her to drop a gear, she did and it leveled out for a minute. The hill ended and she continued on for about 2 minutes and the RPM shot up. She tried a couple more gears and slowed down over about 2 minutes. The clutch dropped to the floor and smoke started piling out of the car. Clutch destroyed.
My major concern is that there was not prior signs of smells of burnt clutch. We park in a smaller garage so it would be very easy to tell if it was happening. My dealership said Audi would not warranty it since it is a wearable part. Fine. I flipped my lid then paid for it.
The issue I am having now is it is STILL acting up. I have had it back to the dealership and they say nothing is wrong with it. I do not want to get stuck with another $6500.00 bill.
I am at the breaking point and ready to trade it off with only 45,000km on it. I am absolutely devastated about it. We LOVE the car but cannot have a money pit sitting in the drive way. Any ideas on what it could be??

Anytime. I am really just looking for answers. The dealer told me that it is the worst they have ever seen yet blamed it 100% on us. My wife and I grew u on Farms pulling trailers and driving standards through the mountains so we know how to NOT ride the clutch. We did have a manual TT for 2 years that was amazing. Ohhh well. I guess I will give it another shot. Hopefully it performs better than a KIA.
