A4 SFI 2003 Misfire
Hi, I am a mechanic but this has me stumped at the moment.
Car has misfire on cylinder 1 and multipul cylinder misfires detected. NOT coil packs as they have been changed and swaped around. Also checked voltages going to them and trigger coming from ECU. Also tried new Air flow meter.
It looks like either an injector problem, but I dont think so, or more likely an air leak, but damned if I can find it. Anyone know of possible places of air leaks affecting no1 cylinder. Have heard of some valve or other in the cam cover, but not sure about this and how its going to affect No1 unless theres some sort of vacuum conection to it. Havent as yet lifted cam cover off.
Cleaned carbon from inlet valves some time back by removing inlet manifold. This was to try and stop what then was slight misfire on tickover. this is now a full on misfire when you accelerate
Thanks Derrick
