Default ABS and Traction control lights on

I just recently bought a 2002 audi a4 1.8t quattro 5 speed manual and Today on my way to work the abs and traction control lights came on about 10 miles into the trip. Any ideas as to what this could be? the brake light is not on or flashing in the dash; dont know if that helps at all. Thanks.

sounds like an ABS speed sensor is out. I just changed one of mine on the right front. Its fairly easy and the sensors are not that expensive. I would check all four tires for any visible damage to the sensor wires etc. and go from there. With any luck you will be able to see the problem.
