Are A4's relatively heavy cars??? Because everyone is always asking abut weight reduction, whats the weight of them compared to lets say the bmw 3 series

 

2002 audi a4 1.8t AWD ---Curb Weight: 3406 lbs

2002 BMW 330xi AWD---- Curb Weight: 3483 lbs

Both awd and that bmw got a 6 cylinder. The audi might look like a boat but i think its all around the same.

 

They are heavy compared to the average sedan though as most other mid size sedans are not AWD so this is our problem but me personally i would not give up our AWD system for weight reduction any day

 

quattro doesn't add that much more. only 143 pounds on the 2005.5.

, strip everything you possibly can out of it. Seats ,spare, interior and driver needs to on Tri Spa. Putting a carbon fiber hood and trunk will likely lighten your wallett, but unless you get seriouos and really strip the car down, you are going to only see very minor losses in weight, major losses from the wallett and neglible ticks off the stop watch. JMO

The biggest weight loss will be to exercise and lose a few pounds of excess flesh
