Car Acts crazy and drains battery after old battery died and was replaced
Edit: It was the module in the passenger side well in the trunk that controls things like locks. It had gotten wet and fried.
Hi all,
Sorry to drop by and post without an introduction or having contributed anything, but I've searched the web and these forums several times and haven't found an answer. Please help if you can. I'd rather not have to take it to a shop.
I have a 2000 Audi A4 2.8, and after letting the car sit with a dead battery for 2-3 days and then replacing it, the car does things like flash the flashers, roll up and down the windows, and won't crank, and sometimes turns the alarm on when I try to crank it. Also, the keyless entry doesn't work. It will crank if I wait for a couple hours before trying, but it doesn't make the crazy stop and the battery runs down over night again.
What can I do to get my car to stop acting crazy quick enough to not drain the brand new battery completely overnight?
Thanks so much for any suggestions. I'll take it in today or tomorrow if there's nothing I can do.

Are there modules on the passenger side that could affect this?
If this is an alarm problem, do you know how I disable/reset the alarm system?

I think the transmission control module is on the passenger side. If you had water over there you should check & make sure it is dry.
Not sure on drivers side. I think the convenience module is there.
Make sure there is no water under the carpets on both sides & check the black e-boxes for water inside!
