I'm way new here and I have always loved Audi's, however, I never knew there were so many different "versions" of the A4. Can anyone explain to me the differences between a B5, B6, B7, and B8? How can I tell which one I have?

It all depends on the year of the car. There's a comparison chart somewhere around here that shows pictures of all the things that they've changed over the years. What year is yours?

as for quattro, there would be badges on the trunk, grill, and above the glovebox on the interior trim

I'll explain it the best I can.

b5's are the sexiest.
b7's look good.
b6's and b8's are just plain ugly. b6's can look good with m3 spoiler and painted lowers.

all of which look much, much better when dropped, with 18's.
