I have a 99.5 Audi A4 and for the past couple of weeks the head/taillight warning symbol in the dash keeps coming on along with very loud annoying beeping. I've checked all the lights (as has my mechanic) and they all appear to be working fine. I would have him disable the beeping altogether, but i'm concerned that if I disable the speaker i won't be alerted when I leave my headlights on (in older models the headlights do not turn off automatically). Is there a way to disable one set of warning sounds (fuel, head/taillight malfunction, etc.) while keeping the other set enabled. It is a different beeping sound, but I'm concerned that they all come from the same speaker. Is there another cheap fix for this problem? Getting this fixed when I'm close to getting rid of the car seems like an unnecessary expense. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
