Default Gearstick movement. Bushes worn? AUDI A4 1.9TDI

Morning

I have a few cm movement to the left and right when my gear stick is in any gear. I have been told these would be worn bushes. Cheap parts, expensive labour. He had no idea of cost

Anyone able to estimate? Or if you know of any other cause that would be swell

Thanks

Sounds like the gear linkage cables the bushes on the ends are usually plastic and wear, you may have to replace the cable, there are two, one is backwards and forwards and the other side to side, dealer part probably around $100, you may get the ends if your lucky!
