NO HEAT
Hello all,
I have read all of the posts within the past year regarding no heat which is the problem I am now facing in my A4. However, no one has actually posted the final solution to their no heat problems. In my case, the car was purchased Audi Assured (no longer current) and has only had authorized dealer service. My extended warranty refuses to participate in a replacement heater core (the problem as identified by the dealer).
First, the dealer replaced the thermostat and I did have plenty of heat...for a day. Now, I have little which increases a bit at higher RPM but is nothing like it use to be.
So, I would be interested in knowing if any of the previous no heat postings have resolved their issues and how this was done.
Regards,
Mike

RE: NO HEAT
Mike - My car is currently at the dealership for the same problem - and ironically, the same thing happened. I just purchased it used from a dealer, and when I test drove it - there was no heat. The dealer replaced the thermostat, and then there was good heat for one day - then back to lukewarm...
In my car - both sides (to and from) of the heater core are warm, so I suspect the "flap" that mixes the outside air with the air off of the heater core. What does suprise me - is that no one suggested checking the interior temperature sensor - just thought of this, so I will ask my dealer.
In any event I'll post whatever I learn.
