Default Just got my 2004 A4, some questions

Just got my 2004 a4 1.8t quattro and I have a few questions if you guys could please help me it would be greatly appreciated...

I havent gotten the owners manual yet, however I heard since I have a turbo car I need to let it idle for 2 minutes before shutting down the motor, is this true?

Also when I first got the car I didnt have the keyless entry key just the spare key and used it to manually unlock and lock my drivers door. Now with the keyless entry system when pressing lock and unlock the drivers door does not do either, just the other 3 doors, I have to use the key to manuallly unlcok and lock the door , is there something im missing or need to do?

THANKS!

Well with the turbo you should be letting it cool down before shutting down the car. You can also just drive the car easy for the last few minutes of your drive to do this. Take the car out and drive it hard pull over and pop the hood, you'll see why you need to idle it for a few.

The lock issue I'm going to say that something has been disconnected so pop the panel off and check for something disconnected.

Seems like its a connection in the door thats damaged or missing. ask the previous owner if he had the problem or not. if still nothing Iwould (yes would)suggest taking it to the dealership. something as stupid as this would probably be best looked after by them. yea it may cost a couple hours work and maybe a replacementpart but whatever, it's always little thing like this that down the road will start to drive you crazy if not properly fixed. I'd also suggest getting all your keys reprogrammed to the car, just cause you never know and you have the immobilizer etc.

Theres an easy way to check to see whats happening, if one door doesnt lock/unlock with the remote see if it locks by pressing the lock button in the car, if yur door locks then you know its a remote key issue, if not then the its lock itself which will require taking off the panel to see if its got power or even if its broken. Some one tried to braek into my last car and f**ked up the driver lock, was to cheap to fix but thats what you should look into
