Default lowering

so im kinda torn at the moment between a porsche 944 and an audi a4...but if i were to get an a4, id like to lower it..i like the eibach springs and shocks/damper kit... What size wheels and tires would make it look good after the lowering? my dad had a '90 bmw 325 and it looked sharp with a +2 tire/wheel combo..but it had 14's stock. im wondering if the audis even need a lower profile tire when you lower? any thoughs/pics would be appreciated. thanks

B5's look best with 18's I think, although some can get away with 19's... and B6's look best with 19's, while some look incredible with 20's.

I don't even get what you're talking about...

If you go +1 or +2, you kind of need a lower profile tire... unless you want to throw off your speedo.
Stock 16's are 205/55/16, while stock 17's are 225/45/17, and if you go 18's you'll need 225/40/18, and 19's need 225/35/19 <-- All b5 sizes here.

Edited for error... Fixed!

on a 19 only running a 225? what about 18's
i would run 235 on the 18's and maybe a 245 on the 19's

Nope. To keep stock rolling diameter, that's what you've gotta use. Plus, 235's and 245's are too wide and way too wide (respectively) for a B5, up front. It'd rub like a ****.

Well, it will -- sort of.
In my opinion, though, I think I'd prefer a lowered car with stock wheels than a car with nice wheels that looks like a monster truck.
If you want the car to look good, then you should do both. 17's minimum, 18's are ideal, and 19's can be sweet... but obviously there are drawbacks to running 19's.

The rear has a 1.25 inch drop, the front is stock suspension. Id say with 18s and a low profile tire the gap would look about the same as the stock tire setup.
