This is a nice forum and I hope to be able to contribute. My car does not have the Bose Premium Audio System and I am wanting the dealer to install this. Does anyone have any experience here?

It's sounding like it will be at least $1,000 but the good news is with the current Nav(Audio Sympthony II I think) it should just be a matter of wiring and a code change because both systems use that same head unit if I'm correct. There will just have to be complete speaker reinstalls(from stock to Bose) and another power amp in the back I believe.

Can someone please confirm that my certified Audi dealer can infact do this?

My Audi dealer quoted $5,000 just for the bose wiring harness. This price does not include speakers or labor.

This sounds quite high for a wiring harness doesn't it? I expected this ordeal to be in the $2,500 range but 5k just for a wiring harness can't be right.

Any thoughts?

 

Holy crap, $5K for the Wiring Harness?? That is robbery.

NOT worth even $1.5K, in my opinion. The Bose system is mediocre at best.. have you listened to it? I have it with my Symphony II and although I've never heard the base audio system, I don't think the Bose is very good at all in my Avant.

I would look into used Bose parts to install yourself, or spend the money on an aftermarket solution.
