Max boost 1.8T can handle?
|
Hi all.This is my first post here.I dont have an A4 but in the mean time till I get my car im driving my father's B5 1.8T.I think its pretty quick for such a heavy.Not looking to modify the thing but just want to get some general info since Audi's seem like nice cars.Whats the max boost that the 1.8T engine can take?

Not on a K03>im just asking in general...but ur saying the stock k03 can go so high??Wont it start to be inefficient?Whats the stock boost on the 1.8T?

From what I've seen, 1.8Ts can handle mid to upper 20s before internals need to be replaced. Your starting off with a fairly low compression engine so your allowed more boost.

it depends on what turbo, what timing, ambient air temps etc. I've hit around 30 on several occasions by accident on a ko4 and gt28rs

for the B6
stock boost peaks at 0.7 bars about 10PSI
and holds around 0.5 bars about 7PSI

atp runs like 36 psi on their kits to make the power it does...or was it 26 psi i dunno but thats on a gt2871rs and gt28rs
