noises coming under my a4
i hear some noises coming under my 1998 a4 like a lose part especilly going over the bumps...
can they be fromthe front control arms? if yes what can i do? how can i fix it?
and what if i don't fix it what happens? because the sounds come only at low speeds going over the bumps...
i hear nothing at higher speeds...
thank you...

RE: noises coming under my a4
Clunks at low speeds going over bumps are often the outer tie rod ends wearing out. Control arms may clunk, but usually you will hear squeeking like two baloons being rubbed together. Have a mechanic check the tie rods and control arms for wear/play.
The worst that can happen is that your steering rack will no longer be connected to your steering wheel and you will crash.
