I have borla exausst and i took out the resonator. it makes it noteable louder, but not too bad. it gives it a much meaner groul though. My only complaint is, of course, the resonance. from upper 2k rpm's to mid ish 3k rpm's, it is really loud in the cab when you are accellerating or using engine breaking. If the windows are open, it isnt really bad becuase the sound doesnt bounce around your head like an effing hollowpoint.

all in all, do it. but DONT cut your resonator out. i went into a shop and got a piece of pipe bent to fit in so i can replace it. when i am going to be driving someone that is old or more "mellow", or going on a long drive, i put my resonator in so that my ears actually work when i get wherever im going

I don't care who I'm driving in my car... I would never swap exhaust components for that reason. It's not worth the time and effort.
At most I would adjust the volume of my stereo/cd to their liking or approval, but I wouldn't even let them change my radio station.

I wouldn't just cut the res. Get the muffler first, if its not loud enough then remove the res and put in a glasspack to minimize cabin drone.

man if i had to do what audicross is doing i would be doing it every other day lol. i have an idea though, what if you leave the res on and put a y-pipe before and after the res and connect the other 2 ends of the y-pipe together. then make something that you can just turn a lever and you can have either a del res or non del res. do you guys know what i'm talking about? sort of? lol i'll post a pic
