Default service light on dash

Just had a ? I have an 03 a4 1.8t and on the dash there is a service light going on when i start the car nothing happens just comes on then off it has been coming up for two weeks well 1st it said 14 days till service 3000 miles and 13 days and so on till yesterday when it said service. Anyone else have this befor thanks

that means u need to have ur car service. if u had someone do the service other than the delaership its still gana come out, u need to have that reset with audi dealership if u did had ur serice somewhere else. mine does that like right now. before i did reset it myself i just forgot the procedure, i will post it if i find it on the net.

[ul][*]Turn off the ignition[*]Press and hold the button on the left side of the display while turning the ignition on[*]Service OIL will be displayed[*]Pull out the button on the right side of the display until the service prompt is cleared[*]The display should now read --- [/ul]
If the above procedure does not work, outlined below is an alternative procedure:
[ul][*]With the ignition off, push the right button[*]Turn the ignition on and then pull the left button[*]This should clear the warning message [/ul]

it means go get your oil changed. then afterwards you reset the service reminder using the procedure littleflavio posted

Ya i just changed the oil like 1000 miles ago ill just use those instructions above to shut it off thanks

You have a B6 A4 so you have to do the same procedure as the two buttons except you have to push and hold the button that looks like a small wrench, then turn on the key and hit the 00 button to re-set the reminder.
