side mirror removal

RE: side mirror removal
I don't exactly remember but you should be able to remove the bolts by just popping off the triangle trim piece on the inside. The part I'm not really sure is if the door panel needs to be removed in order to unplug the wire harness.
Something I've been wondering (sorry for the hi-jack) but when I pulled my mirror off the other day I noticed there was wiring for both the defroster and the dimming sensor. My mirror actually had the connections for the defroster, but they weren't hooked up. Anyone have any insight on this?

You would have to remove the door panel to get the triangle piece out. Now depending on what year A4 you have (which you didn't post BTW) the door panel can be harder or easier to remove.

Yeah you have those two screws at the top, then you have to remove the little cover on the bottom of the handle (should be a small screw holding that on) then there is two more small screws behind the lower handle cover. Once the bolts are out, pull the panel stright up.
As for the B6 question there are several bolts, you have to pop off the wood trim (or aluminum) and there should be 4 screws back there, pop off the trim under the door handle, two there, then one at the very bottom of the panel. On the B6 the panel doesn't pull straight up, its snapped on with several clips, what i do is grab a hold of the bottom of the panel and give it a real good yank. You might have to replace a few broken clips if you like, it really doesn't matter.
