silicone in oil; engine dead
Excuse the post from a non-car guy, but I'm looking for advice. I have a 2010 A4 that I bought certified pre-owned from an Audi dealer. I took it to that dealer for major service around 45k miles. 12k later (and just out of warranty), the oil pressure light goes on.
I take it to another dealer closer to me, and after various tests, they say they'll have to open up the engine to check the oil pans. Before doing that, they tell me that had seen another Audi, where the same original dealer put too thick a layer of silicone on the engine when servicing it, and it ended up in the oil, and Audi paid to replace the engine. When they opened up my oil pans, they also found silicone in the oil.
They took pictures and showed them to the regional Audi rep, who then said that Audi would replace the engine for me. But then the rep came back and said that since I bought the car used, Audi would pay for only half of the repairs. Needless to say I'm appealing this, since it was a CPO, bought from an Audi dealer, who did the major service that was clearly responsible for ruining the engine. Sorry for the long post, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

I think you have the documentation to prove the dealership created the issues. If Audi won't pick up the full cost I would sue the other dealer in small claims court to recoup the other portion of the cost.
