This high pitched whining sound was coming from the Power Steering pump

++Anyway, that funny high pitched whining that Mike Martin is hearing after his autocross run is the third type of noise. This type of whine is from the oil being aerated. When the pump is really screaming, the oil in the resivoir really gets churned up. This allows the occasional air bubble to pass into the pump, where it is totally pulverised into smaller bubbles. Eventually, the oil gets enough of these bubbles in it that you begin to hear it. If you want to really experience aeration, just run your pump low on oil!+++


removed the old aerated oil through a pipe.... refilled with audi hydraulic fluid G 002 000 half liter $25
will change the whole oil again after a week

no more whining sound

 

well man, someone put the regular power steering fluid in my car so it whined on cold mornings but i flushed it with audi ATF fluid 2 times and the noise is completely gone but i am gonna do atleast 3 more flushes cuz u can do atleast 5 flushes with the 18 dollar bottle u get at the audi shop.

 

Why are you putting Audi ATF fluid in your power steering. You should be using Audi steering fluid.

Oh my bad, yea the audi steering fluid which looks like green watery fluid, i dont know where i got the ATF from. haha
