So I installed my Forge Splitter DV on my '03 1.8T quatro yesterday and was honestlyimpressed with the performance difference (only other mod is APR 91octane) untill tonight. While driving home from dinner tonight my car started sputtering and loosing power with the engine light comming on and off the whole time and started to idle rough. I took a quick look at the DV and all the hoses seem to be connected, any ideas? I didnt have any issues with the car before this so im inclined to think it might be the DV somehow.

 

if your light is flashing it is a miss....... might be related to the dv, but doughtful..... might be coincedental


do you have vag? get the codes read and let us know what they are........ more than likely it is a coil pack

but you might have hooked up two of the hoses wrong on the dv, i thought i remeber people saying you could get rough idel from that

 

The DV worked great for the 1st 200miles I drove it so I doubt it was hooked up wrong. How pricey are coils?

 

they are pricey. check out ecstuning. get ur fault codes scanned first to see which one it is. then post back

 

they went up from 8 bucks to 32 bucks a coil

My neuspeed cat back just came in today so ill get that done the same time i get it scanned so I'll drive away smiling about my new exhaust and not thinking about the once again repair bill for my A4 attention *****.

 

Check the bottom spring in the valve. It is the only real point of failure with the valve that would cause the car to behave that way.
