Default STEREO HELP/Not working

8/8/2014
I have a 2004 a4 1.8t. I had it stored in the garage over what was the coldest winter I have ever experienced in my life. I didnt go out and start it throughout the winter enough, so long story short the battery died. I purchased a new battery today and got it running and everything works fine but for some reason my stereo will not work. It seems to be getting no power. It worked before the winter and the dead battery. I already changed the fuse and there is power there i noticed a tiny spark as i put the fuse in. What else could it possibly be? I have not bothered to take out the unit yet to check the wiring because I dont think any of the wiring came loose not moving for a couple months. Any suggestions ideas would be greatly appreciated. i cant go without a stereo ( I could but I would prefer it to work). I dont know if it makes a difference but the climate control underneath the stereo unit is working fine.

Most likely you need to get the activation code for the radio. Never had to do that, but have read that is the battery dies the radio might forget it's code. I think you can look in the truck for the code or call audi. You will need the serial number for the radio. Not sure how you put the code in once you have it.

That would be the case if it was in safe mode. It's getting power because everything lights up but the display! I have since taken the unit out and checked the fuse on the back and it was fine. Unless the display does not come on in safe mode then I'm lost.

Sorry, I should have read that better. I would have guessed a blown fuse then. Not sure if you should see a spark when you installed the fuse. If you have a test light you could check that power is getting to the unit. Would n't think the radio would have gone bad just sitting there.
