Check to see that the fuse for the TCU, if there is one is correctly seated and inserted, and hasn't blown.

If someone messed under the car recently, make sure that the electrical connections to the tansmission are OK.

Post which TCU code you pull.

Yeah, the TCU fuse is fine (unless there is another fusebox somewhere else)

...Do you know where the electrial connections to the trans is?

I need to Vag-com the car again to pull the excact code, but I beleive I remember the engine and ABS reporting a communications error with the TCU

THANKS!

i just bought this car 6 months ago, and things started failing IMMEDIATELY (this is just the latest problem- i've had 2x mass airflow sensors go bad, a vacuum valve, both catylitic converters)... since it's cheaper to lease a new A4 with FREE maintainence (plus it's not a full time job to keep up with the maintainence- i've taken off 10 days from work just to take this thing to the dealer who isn't open saturday and takes 2-4 WEEKS to get an appintment)... this car is not economical and needs to be recycled into tin cans!! i think i'm going to cut my losses, scrap the A4 3.0 and buy a new camry!
