007 DV without chip kosher?
So the dumb question of the day is throwing on the forge 007 Dv without the car being chipped. is that kosher for my baby or no? im gonna chip the car soon its just not in the cards (bank account) right now. can i throw the dv on now though. Its a 2001 1.8t manual quatro. also did the stock air box delete.

You should have no problems putting in the 007. The main reason for NEEDING one after you are chipped is so that you can "tune" the spring tension for the added boost you get from the chip.
Without the chip the 007 will function just like the stock DV. Just use the "weak" spring.

Typically whichever spring was "installed" in the valve when you bought it (assuming you purchased it new) is for a stock tune.
From the Forge website:
Green - 5-15 PSI
Yellow - 15-23 PSI
Blue - 23-30 PSI
Red - 30 + PSI
You should definitely be using the green one, or whichever one is made of the thinnest gauge metal. When you get chipped it will depend on how your chip is tuned as to whether you should upgrade to a heavier gauge spring or not.
make sense?
