On my A6 2.8 Quattro Avant is the original Cluster with the analog clock. I do have a spare cluster out of a 2001 2.7 A6 with the digital clock. Does anyone know if I can simply swap the cluster? (I assume in my 1999 there is no iimmobilizer) is there anything else I have to watch out for. Will it fry some circuits?

analog/digital both have electronic feed so I cant see a problem apart from the connections

 

unless its part of the dash that is, most clocks are separate from the cluster

i think the connectors are the same. I am still afraid by swaping it could mess up the car electronic?

 

I wouldn't do it. Too many difference (like the immobilizer) between the two clusters. You can expect to get warning lights etc in the dash if you do this.
