1999 A6 Quattro 2.8 Clutch Fan Pulley Replacement
While doing the timing belt, water pump and thermostat on my audi I damaged the radiator fan clutch. I am replacing it and the pulley system to be safe. How do you get the bolts from behind the pulley out. The pulley doesn't look like it comes off and the new unit comes with it attached. There are 2 bolts behind the pulley I can't get out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, but i have gotten the the fan and the clutch off. I am wondering about the pulley behind the clutch. There are 2 bolts behind the pulley that i need to remove. The only way i can see is to remove the pulley but several places say to not take the pulley off. it is part number 078121235f that i am talking about.
thanks

Pulley itself is press fit to the idler pulley bracket behind it. You don't want to pull just the pulley out.

Sorry my fault for not explaining it correctly. I have the pulley and mount removed from the front of the engine. Behind the pulley are 2 loose bolts that hold the entire assembly to the motor along with 2 other bolts that were not hidden. How do I get these two bolts out from behind the pulley and reuse them on the new assembly?

Thanks. That's what I needed to know. I have to return the one I got as it didnt have the bolts.
