Default 1st Time Buying an Audi

Looking to buy my first Audi (girlfriend already has one that I drive every now and then...) In particular, there is a 2006 Audi A6 Quattro 3.2 that I have my eye on. It has 114,000 miles, navigation, the works; and it seems to be in excellent condition.

What should I be looking for? I'm no car-illiterate, but definitely no mechanic, especially an Audi expert.

What are common things for an A6 of this age and mileage that tend to be problems or concerns? Are there certain repairs/replacements that should be done given the age and mileage?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I posted in the general forums before I found this category. Please someone delete the other thread, thanks.

Take a look at what happened to my 05 4.2 at the 130,000 mile mark. I decided to sell mine and am currently waiting for my 2015 A6 TDI to arrive at the dealer on August 11th. As you can see I am the original owner and the car was meticulously maintained.

Thank you! That information is invaluable!

Are you saying I shouldn't get this A6 then?

They are a lot of fun. However, they can get expensive in a hurry.

I can't speak for the newer A6s, but I had no where that much work done and have 231k on mine.

Kevin, did I read in another post that you drive in the NYC area. I go through there regularly for work and to visit family in CT, and I dread every trip. The roads suck, pot holes are everywhere, as well as depressed storm drains. My suspension and vehicle in general take a beating. No wonder you had so much loose $hit that had to be tightened. :-)
