before you go rushing to get new icm's try cleaning the contact between it and the airbox and then applying a fresh coat of dielectric grease ($5 at ur local advance or autozone). be generous when throwing it on. The grease transfers the heat from the module to the airbox and usually when people (including myself) wash the engine bays we was this stuff away causing our icms to overheat and act up. I had the same problems as everyone else and was quoted between 800-2200 from different places. instead i spent $5 at autozone and my problem was solved.

J Walters, thanks so much. That was exactly the problem and it was fixed right away. I went through so much BS and the auto shop gave me an estimate of 1600.00 without even mentioning the ignition modules so I am pretty happy right now! Magiben, thanks also for your input. You guys are the best on here. I am not sure if we are allowed to say where we got parts from so PM for cheap and working Audi parts. The modules would've cost me roughly 200.00 each and I got them for 80.00 each!

Missing
I have the same problem. Head gasket, intake gasket, coils, plugs, all good. Switched my icm it ran about two min great I shut the hood it went back to missing. WTF is going on!!?? Also changed temp sensor. I drove the car home the air box wasent in. Then I put it in as well as tightened the plugs cuz they were loose and it started missing next time I started it. Wtf
