Default 2001 Cigarette Lighter fuse

I've changed my fuse a couple times , but every time I do it burns out instantly. So I'm guessing there's a short. Is there anyway to diagnose where the short could be? Anyone else had experience with this? I'm thinking on taking it to the shop, if its not something I could fix myself.

I have a similar issue in my 2000 A6 4.2L V 8 ART. My cigarette lighters wont stay down once you have pushed them in. Sometimes I can get them to heat up a bit if I hold them in just right, but for the most part they really dont work. Any ideas? I check the fuse and its not blown.

Dmaster- first place I would look is at the lighters themselves remove them both and look down into the holes to be sure a coin or something hasnt ended up in there then remove the lighters and see if you still blow the fuse. if all seems clear I would try unplugging them usally the problem is either in the lighter or the socket.

Ultimate Luxury - you probably need new lighters one of mine does the same thing I dont use them so havent replaced it.
