2002 A6 3.0 timing belt
Hi I was looking at the 01 2.7t but with the high miles i decided to pass and now I got a call from a friend about a 2002 A6 with a 3.0L it has 129.5k on it looks good and interior is great down side Timing belt slipped, and damaged one cylinder..he said Head is already off needs valve so i am assuming bent valve what are the odds that is all that is wrong after a belt slip? from my understanding he put new belt on and found the valve problem.
I have no problem do the work on it just have no experience on what all damage other the bent valve it might have caused thanks for the help love the site I have learned a lot just browsing around reading.

This is an interference engine and if the belt slips, the valves and piston tops collide. Do you really believe it is just one valve? Depending on the circumstances of the belt slippage, a couple engine revolutions could destroy all the valves, guides. Honestly, unless you are a real good mechanic and are buying this car dirt cheap, you should keep looking.

thanks for the advice I did pass on that one. and picked up another 2002 A6 3.0 has a few miles on it 180k body is in excellent condition, interior good condition tires good new battery and brakes drives like new runs good but has check engine light on and ABS light.
I tried to read with OBDII and get err. did some reading and tried unplugging ABS controller still cannot read. I am sure there is power at plug when i first plug in scanner it powers up and says OBDII then i hit link and get the err. I figure for what I paid i can handle a few headaches figuring this out.
