Default 2004 A6 timing belt change interval-latest thinking

I have tried searching the forum for the best mileage/time to change the timing belt and can't find the old discussions of the best time to do this. Just wondering what the latest thinking was on this. My 2004 3.0 has about 75,000 miles and I'm starting to think about this. I don't want to do it any sooner than is recommended though, it looks like a lot of work for a driveway guy.

Change it before 90k. I would think it is safe to go to 90k as long as your car hasnt seen WOT's stop light to stop light.
IF you are or PO was a hard driver i would change in within the next 5k.

3.0 is the hardest engine to work on for the timing belt.
