2004 A6 Transmission Slip / ATF Replacement
I've started to notice minor slips in my transmission since about June or 123,xxx miles ago. I started reading the forums about replacing the fluid as the least costly alternative to remedy the problem. However, I just remembered I had the torque converter repalced at roughly 88,xxx which Audi did under a warranty repair. Wouldn't they have replaced the oil at the same time? If so, I was thinking I shouldn't be replacing the oil at 133,xxx. Is it normally part of the torque converter repair or can they do that without draining the ATF?
Anyway, thinking I was way over 100K I went on and ordered the Blauparts kit which seemed pretty reasonable for the job. Am I headed in the right direction or do I have another torque converter problem on my hands? The slips aren't consistent and usually occur from a stop or after coasting for the most part. Some days I never notice it.
