I'm getting a loud beep and a yellow "Brake Light" error message display on my dash. During the beep it also says "Centre Brake Light" in red but goes away soon after the beep stops. The centre brake light works sometimes which leads me to believe that it isn't the light itself (but I'm not ruling that out just yet). Could this possibly be a faulty brake switch or being caused from the cold winter weather?

Also, the ESP/ABS recently came on...could this all be related?

Note: the other two brake lights are working properly

sounds like your loosing a firm connection in the cold weather.

You have to find where the center connects into the harness unplug it pinch the females a little with a small pick and clean the males with a nail file, use di-electric grease and reassemble.

 

Thanks Jackmup. I haven't gotten around to looking into this more until today when the ESP light came on followed by the ABS light. Does all three of these lights now being on point to a problem with the brake light switch?

 

After doing some research I tried to replace the brake light switch but that didn't do anything...I hooked up the VAGCOM and it came back with a long list of errors (the diagnostics was taken before replacing the switch...any ideas??):
