Default 2006 A6 Brake sensor wire cut

The brake sensor wire on my A6 was pinched and cut. My mechanic says I need new pads.
Can I just cross the wire or something to turn the warning light off and live without the sensor?

Thanks.

Pat.

Just connect the 2 wires and you are good.

Four options

1. Reconnect the wires.
2. Replace pads
3. live with warning on dash
4. Jumper the wires together.

Do 2 if the pads are worn
Do 3 if you like lights
If you do 4 make sure you check the pads.
If the wires are long enough 1 is the best choice - use a bit of solder and heat shrink tubing to insulate the wires.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I would opt for 1 or 4. Pads are new.

I was wonder if the wires needed to be connected or disconnected.
Wasn't sure how they worked.

Thanks again.

Pat
