Default 99 a6 power mirror switch

OK, i broke rule #1...NEVER let anyone drive your audi!!!!!!!! I needed my mother to follow me in my old car to drop it off for its new owner, and what does she do? Upon getting in she trys to adjust the mirrors and breaks off the switch[>:]
I see the replacment switch on ebay for 45 bucks, has anyone ever replaced this piece? does it pop right out or is there more to it, i didnt wanna rush into trying to pop it out with a screw driver and mess something up. any help is much appreciated. thanks

Easiest way to do it is to remove the cupholder. It has clips on both sides. You have to prey it apart ot see the clips. Then push the mirro switch up from the bottom.

I have had the same problem with the door mirror switch that is mounted on the centre console between the seat behind the gear stick an infront of the handbrake. This swithc is in a 2002 audi A6 1.8. Can anyone help?

The switch is easy, just use a pocket sized screw driver and pop it straight up.

are you sure that the switch pops right out? i have a new switch in front of me and the connector goes to it from the front, so you would have to push it towards the back of the car and then pull up but pushing it back is impossible... any more info of how to remove that damn switch? i bought my car with it broken and cant adjust my mirrors lol

Did just the know snap off? If so then it is just a clear plastic stud that broke. Pull that out and press the new **** in.

I just pushed down the cup holder half way down, stuck my finger inside and pushed the switch out. it took me around 30 seconds to replace the whole thing and push it back in
