Car Died during downshift around turn!?!
Hey guys,
A buddy and I took a ride around in the country and as I was high revved in third gear I went and put it into neutral around the turn, the car's rpm's plummeted as usual but the rpm's didn't stop..the car just died...In the midst of an s curve! I had to yank the e brake so I wouldn't go off the road! Does anyone have any advice?? Any would be appreciative.
P.s. Could it be the alternator?

The main advice would be to select the proper gear before entering a curve and not to be in neutral going around it. Using the E brake, which is really just a parking brake, will have very little effect in slowing down a car, unless you can pull hard enough to lock the wheels, in which case it could throw the car out of control. What was wrong with the service brakes?
There is a remote chance that if the fuel level was low, the fuel pump pickup could have run dry as the fuel sloshed to one side of the tank, causing the engine to starve and die.

ok thanks,
That would make sense with the gas tank. I will drive straight and then pop it into neutral and see if it happens. But if the car dies then it obviously isn't from the gas moving around..Could it be the fuel pump going bad?
