Hey I have an important question...Right now my cel on for a bad passenger cat, an indy mech I have been going to strongly suggested OEM cats and I was wondering if I could just go to a muffler shop and get two magnaflows welded on in place of the stock cats. Would this cause any problems? Im assuming with stock exhaust the sound/performance difference will not even be noticeable right?

You might throw a CEL (I only have twice but it went away within a week or so each time)
Also if you're burning out your cat you might want to look out for what caused it... you could have an o2 sensor on the fritz. (thats what happened to me i'm on my 2nd set of magnaflow cats)

for your reference, 2.8s and 2.7Ts have issues with ECU being set for too low of threshold for catalytic converter readings. You can have the dealer flash the ECU with the latest program and it can get rid of the catalytic converter issue. FYI, not all ECUs can be updated, but it is worth checking with the dealer. It costed be $300 to reflash, and fault codes went away for good.
