Default Coolant Reservoir Hose Issue

Hello All,

Can someone do me the favor of telling me where a hose leads to. On the Coolant Reservoir, there is a hose coming directly out of the bottom of the tank (almost directly under the cap). Mine is cut off and i cant seem to find where it goes to.

I have had my car for 15K now, and just realized this was there. THe previous owner Capped the hose, and just fed a foot of the line down behind the engine to hide the issue.

Can someone please tell me where this hose is suppose to go?

Thanks!

Are there 2 other hoses on the tank too? If so, this one is most likley the overflow...

I don't know how your 2.7's reservoir is setup (twinturbosixer), but the one on my FWD '95 has only two hoses.
The overflow (coming from the radiator), and the bottom one you talk about that hooks into the line that goes to the T-stat housing.
Here's some pics so you can have an idea

You have a 3rd hole, chefro... feel underneath in the center... there's an overflow hole there, they just put a hose on it in later models

I went to the car and checked.
There's no fourth hole I can simply detect by touch. I'll have to unscrew the reservoir tomorrow and have a better look.
You really made me curious, since I don't remember seeing an extra hole when I handled it, as new.

hmm.. in the bottom center do you have a recess? Mine went way 'up' and ended in a hole... figured out it was the overflow when I over filled

The hose I am talking about isnt a overflow hose. I took the hose off and uncapped it. The entire container emptied onto the floor as soon as I turned it over.

Is there any way this hose runs to the trans? (doubt it, but possiblility)

I will show a picture of it after work, but it is just a rubber tube, about 3/4 outer dia. and 3/8 inch inner.

I really wanna find out where the hell this hose is suppose to be feeding coolant to!
