Hi to all,
I'm trying to buy a diagnostic tool for my car VAG 5053, but found that my DLC is different that described anywhere. Particulary, they say my connector should be 16-pin, and in use are 4,5,7,15,16 pins. I've checked DLC on my Audi A6 1999 Avant Quattro, 2.8Land it has 1,4,5,7,13,16 in use. So, instead of 5 pins my has 6 pins connected and, offcourse wired pins are 1 and 13.
Anybody can explane me why it is different than other cars (I saw one picture, not sure what model was that, and it had "proper" configuration)? Are there any adaptors?

All Audis since 1996 have the standard OBDII DLC, so any OBDII reader should work. A lot of Audi owners use VagCom code readers with their laptop for more detailed information on DTC (diagnostic trouble codes).

 

WolfsA6 2.8Q, thanks for your reply. I saw a picture of one DLC and contacts positions WERE different than those I have in my Audi A6. Maybe that was A4 or VW on that picture?... So, if you have a VAG code reader (not computer based) tell me, please, what model do youuse and how good it is in your opinion. I'll contact a salesmanbefore buying, but you know that we should not alwaystrust those sharks... they will tell you whatever you wanna hearand get your money. Thank you again.
