Default Does anyone know how to break the code on Ross-tech VCDS Lite?

Hi I am trying to sort out some problems with the auto transmission in my Audi A6. I have downloaded the VCDS lite and ran a scan on the car but I cannot clear the codes because I don't have the doftware license. I was wondering if anyone knows how to use the VCDS diagnostics full version without buying a license. I am only an home user not a business or a workshop. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just want to fix my car that's all, I don't want to make money from it.

We understand what you are asking, but regardless of how you plan to use the software, what you are asking here is how to break the law.

Uwe, the guy that wrote the software, is a member on the forums here. I think that he makes the software available for a pretty reasonable cost. Most "shop" software is exorbitantly expensive. You can purchase a license for your software from the website, or perhaps you can find someone near you that has the official version that will help you out. Most of us with the means don't have issue with lending a hand.

If you plan on keeping your car for an extended period of time, and you plan on doing your own care and maintenance, purchasing the official software is well worth the cost and quite reasonable for the things that allows you to do.

-end rant

if you just need codes reset , go to any parts store that scans for free and have it reset.

Sorry if I upset anyone, my humble apologies. I agree with 02A6Beau and I didn't realise the software was developed by someone like ourselves, I honestly thought it was from Audi or software from their workshops. Which leads me to ask what software does Audi use?

If there is a way to remove threads I will happily remove this original thread with my apologies.

Hi, thank you so much for your reply. I didn't realise the software was developed by a Member in the forum. I actually thought it was the software used by Audi. I have had my car parked for 3 years with a transmission problem and over here in Australia you have to sell one of your kidneys to fix an Audi. I had a bad experience with Audi when I bought the car I asked them to go over the car and change all fluids and do a proper service for me, only to have the transmission doing funny things on me a week later. It turns out the transmission fluid was so old and dirty it interfered with its normal operation. I contacted Audi and asked them why they didn't change the transmission oil and filter? (they charged me for it. $52.00 per litre of tranny fluid x 9litres + filter and gasket etc)The Audi service manager says it was an oversight, because they dont service the trasmission as they are a sealed unit and come with a lifetime fluid!!!!! They returned the money they charged me for the transmission service because I caught on to what they were doing. Many customers wouldn't even suspect.

I think if i can fix my car I will just buy the software license. Once again sorry for asking so openly in the forum, I hate the Audi people here in OZ who rip off their customers that's why this forum exists, people are fed up with the lack of service from the dealerships especially here in Australia. Can you believe they quoted me $10,000.00 for a new transmission? I asked them, does it come brand new all the way from Germany? They said, no its from here refurbished by a specialist. I then found out they just outsource the jobs to a transmission mechanic down the road and charge their clients another $4,500.00 on top and tell them it's new. Can you believe this????!!!!!!

That is very poor business practice and i would report them to Audi as that will give them a bad name ( audi )

Yeah I know, it's amazing how much stuff they get away with. I am talking about Audi Australia in Parramatta - Sydney. I think Audi in Australia brings in cars through a private importer, meaning they are not really Audi Audi. Never mind we have to look for other alternatives :-)
