The glove box in my 2001 A6 keeps falling open so I'm sure the spring in the latch just gotten so weak that it won't hold anymore.
First how the heck do I get to the latch? I tried taking the glove box door apart with no luck due to screw angles and not having enough clearance for a tool of any type.
Next, are there any aftermarket latches that actually latch and lock more securely? I have used the glove box to "lock stuff up in the car" and now that I see how weak and crappy the latch design...I am just glad that no one ever tried to break in.
