Hate them Halogen DRL--what have you done?
I really dislike the (yellowish hue) Halogen bulbs on my '06 A6 for the driving lights. Would like to update them to something else that is much whiter and more update looking like LEDs. Even an improved halogen bulb that is whiter would be ok. (A lot of LEDs I find with the correct part number I'm told will not work as DRLs for European cars. Unless I add a resistor--is this the only "fix?")
What have some of you done to upgrade your driving lights?
IN CASE IT HELPS--more info on my car lights
Bought the car used and had Audi give me a vehicle data sheet from it's VIN and it states the following for my car
--Bi-functional headlights with gas discharge lamps
--Headlight-range adjustment, automatic/ dynamic with dynamic bending light (AFS-1)
Again, I'm looking to improve the driving lights, very happy with the headlights.
Thank you

Something you may want to look into is an HID conversion kit.. theyre reasonably priced and you can get a PURE white color. The cool thing about HID bulbs is you can select the color temperature in Kelvin for what color light you want. A pure white light is somewhere around 5000-6000k. check out vvme.com

HID for the DRLs?
Never heard of that before, I figured with the heat they put out, a DRL application would not be best for them.
If that's the case, anyone know what the stock temp (K value) HID or Xenon bulbs are on a 2006 A6 Audi? So I can closely match if I buy a set of aftermarket HIDs for DRLs.
I’m guessing with --Bi-functional headlights with gas discharge lamps-- I'm running HIDs for the headlights already. I have seen the ballast, never had Xenon before so not sure the difference.
thank you

Just needed a good 1156 bulb, so I these last night
2X WHITE 1156 7506 19LED BACK UP REVERSE LIGHT BULBS #C | eBay
Already have the 6ohm, 50W resistors.
Looks like this weekend I'll be doing a little work on the car. Yeah, Bye-Bye yellowish halogen DRLs!
