Help Please no power at the fuel pump
Hello All,
I have a 2004 Audi A6 Quattro 3.0. I am the second owner and it has been cared for. It has 137K miles. Last week I was driving home and it started to bog down and stall like a car with a plugged fuel filter. I had it towed home. I removed the fuel filter and it was the original. It was heavy and black gunk came out of it. Before I replaced the filter I turned the key on and fuel came out of the line. I hooked up the filter and no start.
I took the line off at the fuel rail and no fuel. I blew air through all to make sure there was not an obstructed line.
I checked the relay and it was not clicking. I checked the fuse and it was fine but replaced it. I replaced the relay and it is clicking when the key is turned on.
I now think that it must be the pump. But, I checked the power at the pump while having it cranked and there is no power.
I am open to ideas. Crankshaft position sensor?
Thank you all for your help.

You said when you turn the key (with no fuel filter in line), gas flowed out. That would not happen without a working fuel pump. It sounds like a blockage somewhere but I can't help as I never took apart the fuel intake system.
