just hit 235,000 in a 1995 audi a6 quattro C4. Planning on taking it to 300,000. What is some good preventative maintence I can expect?

 

225K California miles on my 2001 A6 2.7T. Car has all options offered that year except heated seats. Maintenance costs have been much above average. Car runs fine, but will probably retire it soon and run my XJR for a while.

I have just purchased an A6 Quatto 3.2 2007 about 2 months ago. My wife has the car and is getting the oil changed today. 91,500 miles and we love the car.

 

180+k so far so good...

wow! Impressed - I have 2005 A6 3.2 and its only done 50K but have had horrendous issues since it was only 4 years old and 30k on the clock - finally got an Audi dealership that knew what they were talking about to hopefully sort everything out - so fingers crossed no more problems! From being 4 years old its had new gearbox, new cat converter, new timing chain and tensioners, new coilpacks dare I go on ! She runs like a dream at the minute though (touch wood)

 

If you don't have a good garage (preferred) or dealer in your area, you don't want to own an Audi. No Audi needs a timing chain at under 50,000 miles - nor are they prone to transmission problems. Many garages just throw new parts at cars trying to fix problems they can't diagnose. Sad but true. Computers have made diagnosis easier but we still have exceptions. My wife has a 2005 A6 3.2 and it will not see 200,000, just not the same car or highway use as the 2000 2.7 five speed. IMO
