1996 2.8 A6 232,000 runs great. Other electrical issues may do me in.

RIP - 1988 5cyl. E100 retired at 208,000

just acquired 2003 3.0 A6 fix'r-up'r. I hope it's not a mistake. needs coils and a cat. Clean with 182,000.

Don't bother with the cats at that mileage unless you have to. I replaced them on my 2.7T at 185k and never was able to clear the MIL. Put a piece of black tape over the CEL.

1995 A6 2.8 Avant - 208,000 miles, timing belt and water pump done a couple of weeks ago (I did it, saved $1200...), radio stopped working, infrared key stopped working, rear window washer stopped working, a few lights out in the dash, a/c occasionally stops responding to commands, something (a relay?) rattles like hell occasionally under the dash)
Other than that, this is an awesome car and they'll have to pry it out of my cold dead hands. That said, anyone know where the rest of the information in the Elsawin is for things like the rear window washer? Not in my version which goes up to 2010

Im not a huge fan of the 3.0. Underpowered lots of issues. The 2.7 is a much better motor

Default 2001 A6 2.7 5 Speed replaces 2000 with 330,000 miles

I traded in my 2000 A6 5 Speed with 330,000 miles. Motor and Transmission still strong. Found a very clean 2001 A6 2.7 five speed 25 miles from my house with 95,000 on it for 5K. Had to spend a few dollars on motor mounts etc. but now with 119,000 miles it is running like a new car and ready for another 200,000 miles. I understand the newer Audi's are not as reliable, according to my mechanics. Too bad, they are beautiful cars.

'99 A6 212,000 and going. A few hiccups but all in all rides great. Planning to hand the keys over to my son for his first car. The ABS module is dead (may need to fix before giving), the Center Display is pixelated but every now and then readable. And some weird RPM flux on cold days-
